Gomersal & Cleckheaton FC was formed in 1977 with the same aims as we currently have: providing a safe and fun place for people from the local area to play football. Today there are c450 playing members in 38 teams from under 6’s to Open Age.

We recognise that playing for GCFC is a choice among many in the area. We strive to be known
as a well-run club with great facilities, supportive of our players, respectful of opponents and
officials, and a great community for players, coaches, and parent supporters.

We are affiliated with the Football Association and are a Charter Standard Club. In order to maintain that important accreditation we help to support the volunteer managers and coaches with FA qualifications, DBS verification and first aid training. This accreditation gives parents, guardians and supporters the confidence that the players are participating and developing in a safe and well-run environment.

We ask our local community to do what they can to help, support and encourage the players and the volunteers who give up their free time to make all this possible as without them we would not have a club. Any donations will help sustain Gomersal & Cleckheaton FC as a purely non-profit organisation to provide football opportunities to local children and adults.

The Club will abide by the Football Association's Child Protection Policies and Procedures, Codes of Conduct and the Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination Policy to further its objective.

To provide facilities suitable for such a high standard of amateur football, we are now a founder of East Bierley Community Sports Association, who have taken ownership of the grounds, which was secured by an asset transfer from Kirklees Council on a 125-year lease.

As part of the expanded club we undertake fundraising to fulfil our plans to keep improving the ground facilities – i.e. better playing surfaces, training areas, floodlights, and possibly a clubhouse.

We welcome players who want to challenge for a place in any of the teams, play at a high standard, improve our teams and enjoy playing amateur football in West Yorkshire.

Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone interested in Association Football on application regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs. However, limitation of membership according to available facilities is allowable on a non-discriminatory basis.
